. . . Antigua is full of street vendors hoping to sell to the "vacationers" (we're not vacationers). Street vendors sell mostly local weavings; and wood carvings and flutes, and jewelry. (Jade is indigenous to Guatemala and comes in various colors including lavender. There are several very nice and reputable jade stores/factories in Antigua.) You very quickly learn to say, "No, no gracias. No hoy." Over and over again.
