Now this is TEMPLE IV, located at the extreme west end of the park, and is THE place to watch the sun rise. This temple is the tallest structure at Tikal (208 ft. - equivalent to a 20-story building) and the second highest pre-Columbian building known in the Western Hemisphsere (after El Tigre at El Mirador, south of the Mexican border). So, the next morning we leave our hotel at 5 a.m. and head for Temple IV . . .
