. . . where we climb up TEMPLE IV in complete darkness, aided only by a hand-held flashlight. Yes, a little nerve racking. But once atop the pyramid we find seating on the temple steps and await twilight in the eerie silence of the dark, still jungle. While still dark, we hear one VERY loud "roar" from way down below us. This is followed by another roar off in the distance, and another in still another direction, soon we were surrounded by roars. We thought it was jaguars but was told that it was actually howler monkeys. It was as if the first monkey woke up the next, who was ticked off and roared his annoyance, who in turn woke up the next none happier, and so on. You can see Gran Plaza emerging in the twilight . . .
